Visit your local beauty supply store and ask for shimmering lights shampoo. Shampoo your hair with the shimmering lights shampoo. Allow the shampoo to sit in the hair for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse the your hair thoroughly. Shimmering lights shampoo is great for removing the yellowing which is commonly caused by smoke, and or excessive heat being applied to grey hair.

Washing your hair weekly will not speed the locking process. This will delay the locking process because the pattern is being washed away every week. You should return to your locktician every 2 weeks to retwist the locks without washing. Returning to retwist will help keep the hair looking neat and aid in the locking process.

A basic style is defined as follows: A basic style is any style that does not require the use or placement of hair pins, rods, rollers, straws, clips, beads, etc. to create the style. Styles which require the creation of the rope wrap and /or wavy look are also not considered basic styles.
